What makes the Osprey II second stage so special?

The Osprey II is a pneumatically balanced second stage that reduces breathing resistance to near zero via a balanced valve seat, designed to respond to the slightest inhalation. While a pneumatically balanced second stage may have a similar initial crack opening effort as a mechanically balanced second stage, the spring force in a pneumatically balanced design is much lighter.
